I haven’t actually test it, but I think it should work with recent playSMS, except when you use playSMS 0.9.7.1 you need to also copy sendsmsd* from contrib along with playsmsd*.

I suggest you join the mailing list by sending empty subject email to playsms-devel-subscribe@yahoogroups.com
Use latest version (0.9.7.1) as we will have major changes in 0.9.8 which only available to upgrade from 0.9.7.1.
